Rotary has been working to eradicate polio for more than 35 years. Rotary’s goal of ridding the world of this disease is closer than ever.

As a founding partner of the Global Polio Eradication Initiative, Rotary through it’s worldwide network of Clubs reduced polio cases by 99.9 percent since its first project to vaccinate children in the Philippines in 1979.

Today, polio remains endemic only in Afghanistan and Pakistan. But it’s crucial to continue working to keep other countries polio-free. If all eradication efforts stopped today, within 10 years, polio could paralyze again as many as 200.000 children each year.

The word kosher means proper or acceptable. It has - since a while now - informally entered the English language with that meaning. Kosher laws have their origin in the Bible, and are detailed in the Talmud and other codes of Jewish traditions. They have been applied through the centuries to ever-changing situations. These rulings, both ancient and modern, govern any Kosher certification.

The Kosher Certified symbol assures consumers that both the actual product and its production adhere to all Kosher law requirements.

x-TRACT’s commercial manufacturing unit in Lonavala is now fully Kosher-certified.

Halal literally means "permissible" in Arabic and refers to food items that are permissible to consume under Muslim law. Haram (lit. "unlawful") refers to any substance not permitted to consume. Halal foods must be "free from any substance taken or extracted from a haram animal or ingredient (e.g. pigs, dogs, carnivorous animals, animals not slaughtered in compliance with Islamic rites)

Due certification is mandatory to be able to sell to those markets.

x-TRACT with its vegan product portfolio fully complies with these requirements and is now Halal-certified.

x-TRACT, a 100 % subsidiary of i-CHESS, recently revealed its plan to start its own flavour ingredient plant in Lonavala (80 km south-east from Bombay and 40 km away from Pune). The plant will fully comply both with domestic as well as international regulations, i.e. FSSAi, ISO 22000, Kosher, Halal and others.

The plant uses precisely developed extraction and tailor-made reaction lines for individual products to obtain high yields, aroma consistency, reproducibility, mechanical vapour recovery (MVR)

“This type of project is ideal for us at x-TRACT because our expertise and scope of supply allows us to build the entire manufacturing line using our own resources,” said Ashwin Kakade, COO of x-TRACT. “This means that we can maintain control and take full responsibility for the entire project from start to finish.”
